All 29 Galapagos tours compared
Every Galapagos tour we could confirm as live on GetYourGuide or Viator, grouped by the island you sail from, with the operator's own rating, review count, duration, displayed price and departure port.
The verdict
Four picks, each argued from the table below rather than from a hunch. Best overall: the Pinzón Island day tour from Puerto Ayora, 4.9 from 154 Viator reviews, the most-reviewed listing in the set. Best value: the Sierra Negra volcano day trip on Isabela at $65 for six hours, the cheapest published price of any full day here. Best for families: the three-hour giant tortoise and lava tunnels tour on Santa Cruz, 4.8 from 80 reviews, with no ocean crossing at all. Best for divers: the one-day Galapagos Discovery dive out of Puerto Ayora, which carries the most feedback in a category that has very little.

How to read these tables
Every figure here is the operator's own, read from the live listing, and the tables are sorted by review count within each island because that is the closest public signal for how many people actually book. Ratings without volume behind them are close to meaningless, so a 5.0 sitting on two reviews is printed as it stands rather than promoted.
Three columns need a word of warning. Where a listing displays no rating, the row says so; five of the 29 are in that position, and they are real, live products with no public feedback yet. Where a listing shows no headline price, the row says the price is in the booking flow, because printing somebody else's guess is worse than printing nothing. And where a listing quotes in euros, reais, pesos or Mexican pesos, that is the currency the listing itself displayed, reproduced without conversion.
The platform name in each row opens the operator's own listing in a new tab, which is where today's price and remaining dates live. Tour names in blue open our full write-up of that tour.
Santa Cruz day tours: 10 listings, the deepest set
Puerto Ayora is the busiest port in the archipelago and it shows. Santa Cruz carries 471 of the 838 reviews across the whole set, the two joint-highest-rated boats, and the widest range of trip lengths, from a three-hour bay tour to a ten-hour run out to Bartolomé. Full hub with photos and inclusions: Santa Cruz day tours.

Two boats run by Guiding Galapagos Expeditions sit at the top, both at 4.9, both seven hours, both leaving Puerto Ayora at eight in the morning. Pinzón has the deeper review record; Santa Fe has the hidden beach. Neither publishes a headline price, which is normal for this operator and the reason we send you to the listing rather than quote a figure.
San Cristóbal day tours: 5 listings, all built around Kicker Rock
Every San Cristóbal listing here is some version of the same day: out to Kicker Rock, snorkel the channel, then a beach. The differences are the boat, the lunch and the price, which runs from $260 to $285 across the listings that publish one. Day tours from this island generally sit in the $149 to $320 band, higher than Santa Cruz. More detail on the San Cristóbal hub.

| 360 tour Galapagos Sharksky Travel & Conservation | Viator | 5.0 | 2 | 9 hours (approx.) | In booking flow | Kicker Rock, Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, San Cristobal |
The spread of ratings here is the widest in the set: 4.7 at the top, 3.5 at the bottom, on trips that look near-identical in their descriptions. That gap is the argument for reading the reviews rather than the itinerary. Cancellation terms split the group too: the GetYourGuide Kicker Rock day and the Perfect Destiny 360 both allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before, while the other three state plainly that they are non-refundable and cannot be changed.
Isabela day tours: 6 listings, the cheapest full days
Isabela is where the prices drop. The volcano hike is the clearest example: two operators run the same Sierra Negra trail, one listing at $65 and one quoting in Brazilian reais, and both are shorter and cheaper than anything comparable on the other two islands. The catch is that the most-reviewed Isabela product actually leaves from Santa Cruz as a very long day trip. See the Isabela hub for how those two things fit together.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

| Hiking Day Trip to Sierra Negra Volcano Galapagos Galapagos Tours Nature Galapagos & Ecuador | Viator | 5.0 | 3 | 6 hours (approx.) | $65.00 | Puerto Villamil, Isabela Island |
Note the ten-hour figure on the top row. That trip starts at 6:15 in Puerto Ayora, crosses to Isabela by speedboat, does Tintoreras, the wetlands and the flamingo lagoon, then crosses back. It is a genuinely good day and a genuinely brutal one. If you are already sleeping in Puerto Villamil, the Cabo Rosa tunnels trip gives you the better snorkelling in half the hours.
Diving tours: 6 listings, and the thinnest category here
This is the part of the set we are least confident about, and saying so is the point. Six dive listings carry 13 reviews between them, and three of the six show no rating whatsoever. Most Galapagos diving is booked directly with dive shops in Puerto Ayora and Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, or aboard liveaboards that never touch these platforms at all. Read the diving hub before you decide, and the diving guide for what the sites actually demand of you.

| 6-Day Small Group Galapagos: San Cristobal PADI Diving Course with Certification Operator not named on the listing | Viator | None shown | None shown | 6 days (approx.) | In booking flow | San Cristobal |
Two of these are multi-day packages with accommodation rather than day dives, which is worth spotting before you book: the five-day and six-day entries include hotels and a PADI course. If you want a single day in the water and you are already certified, the Kicker Rock dive is the direct answer, at 4.7 from three reviews.
Multi-day and add-on listings
Two products do not belong to any island category. One is a six-day island-hopping package that covers what most people mean by a Galapagos land trip. The other is a short Charles Darwin Research Station visit, which is worth knowing about mainly because the station is free to enter on your own and this listing is buying you the transport and the guide.

The four categories, side by side
Stepping back from individual boats, the shape of the market is easy to see in five rows. Review depth is concentrated almost entirely on Santa Cruz and Isabela, and it thins out fast.
| Category | Listings | Total reviews | Listings with a rating | Best-reviewed product | Typical day-tour band |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Santa Cruz | 10 | 471 | 9 of 10 | Pinzón Island, 154 reviews | $145 to $245 |
| San Cristóbal | 5 | 106 | 5 of 5 | Galapagos 360, 47 reviews | $149 to $320 |
| Isabela | 6 | 245 | 6 of 6 | Tintoreras and flamingos, 138 reviews | $75 to $187 |
| Diving | 6 | 13 | 3 of 6 | Discovery Diving one day, 9 reviews | Varies widely, mostly in the booking flow |
| Multi-day and add-ons | 2 | 3 | 1 of 2 | Darwin Station visit, 3 reviews | $1,983 for the six-day package |
Listing counts and review totals are the operators' current figures. The typical bands are the going rates for day tours departing each island, not the price of any single listing above.
Which one fits you
| First time, one island, one great day | The Pinzón Island day tour. Seven hours from Puerto Ayora, snorkelling as the centrepiece, lunch and wetsuits included, and 154 reviews at 4.9 behind it. Nothing else in the set has that combination of depth and score. If it is sold out, the same operator's Santa Fe trip sits at 4.9 from 91. |
|---|---|
| Travelling with children | The giant tortoise and lava tunnels tour. Three hours in the Santa Cruz highlands, no crossing, tortoises in the wild rather than in a pen, and 4.8 from 80 reviews. Boats mean swell, and a ten-hour day with a seven-year-old is a different trip entirely. More on ages and pacing in the guide to visiting with kids. |
| Watching the budget | Base yourself on Isabela. The $65 Sierra Negra day trip is the cheapest published full day here, and the whole island runs $75 to $187 against $145 to $245 on Santa Cruz. Only three reviews back that specific listing, so if you want a track record instead, the other Sierra Negra hike holds 4.3 from 24. The full arithmetic is in what a Galapagos trip really costs. |
| Here for the snorkelling above all | Cabo Rosa, the lava tunnels off Isabela. Five hours, 4.5 from 70 reviews, and the clearest water of anything on this page. Turtles and white-tipped reef sharks sit in the arches rather than passing through. Kicker Rock is the alternative if you would rather have depth and the chance of hammerheads. |
| Certified diver with one free day | Kicker Rock for certified divers. Five hours, 4.7 from three reviews, gear and lunch included. Read that review count as what it is. The dive market here barely uses these platforms, so treat the listing as a starting point and message the operator before booking. |
| You want the trip planned for you | The six-day island-hopping package at $1,983. It has no rating yet, which we say plainly, but it covers accommodation, inter-island speedboats, a naturalist guide and most meals. Compare it against building the same week yourself in the island hopping guide. |
Why the review counts here look so small
A comparable day trip in Rome or Reykjavík would carry five thousand reviews. The best-performing Galapagos day tour on either platform has 154, and all 29 listings on this page total 838 between them. That is not a warning about the operators. It is what happens when only 290,404 people visit a destination in a year, and most of them book through a specialist agent or a cruise line rather than a booking platform.
The practical effect is that star ratings here are a weak signal and itineraries are a strong one. Two boats to the same island on the same schedule can differ by an hour of snorkelling, a wetsuit, or whether lunch happens at anchor or back at the pier. Those details are published on every listing, and they are more predictive of your day than the difference between 4.5 and 4.8 on eleven reviews.
The other thing worth understanding is the price vacuum. Fourteen of the 29 listings show no headline price at all until you enter dates. Galapagos day-boat pricing moves with fuel, season and how full the boat already is, so operators would rather quote live than advertise a number they cannot hold. We leave those cells honest rather than filling them.
How this comparison was put together
Each of the 29 listings was opened individually on GetYourGuide or Viator, and the rating, review count, duration, displayed price, departure port, operator name, inclusions and cancellation terms were read from the live page rather than from a feed. Where a discovery pass and the live page disagreed, the live page won. Where the live page publishes nothing, this page publishes nothing.
Ordering is by review count, always, in every table. Commission plays no part in it, and the platform paying more does not move a tour up. That claim is only worth as much as the method behind it, which is set out on the about page and the affiliate disclosure.
Park fees are separate from every price on this page. The national park charges $200 for foreign adults on arrival, and the transit control card costs $20 online before you fly. Both are set by the park authority and neither is included in any tour above. Quick answers to the rest are on the FAQ.
